I hate my chinese name since young.I was told that my father went to see a fortune teller to name his unborn child.Been a English educated man with little knowledge of what characters in Chinese means in English,he agreed to whatever names the fortune teller wrote.
My mom was in labour at that time when he read out the list of names the fortune teller gave,and been in pain,you naturally wouldn't listen to whatever people around you were saying,so my mother chose the one with the nice sound and named me Bao Shi,literally translated to Precious Gem.
My family name is Ng,which stands for Yellow in Chinese,so adding that to my name,you have Yel

i thought sapphire is blue ... topaz is yellow lol my parents named me jasmine, but it doesnt suit my face, my character or anything else. so my friends always laugh at it too .... they usually call me zhou (my surname) though. i understand how it feels to have a sucky name -.- zzz anw, thx for the fav. cheers
